Our sweet boy Sully is ready for his forever home. Some of you may remember that Sully came into our care when his owners were advised by 2 vets to euthanize him for his behavioural issues. They believed he had "unpredictable aggression" that could not be fixed, and that the best solution would be for him to no longer be with us. Every single day, we are grateful for Bekah and the wonderful humans at Country Paws for contacting Shelbo and bringing this sweet boy to her attention. We don't like to point fingers over here, so we won't. But as you know - we're huge advocates for training and education, as well as providing each and every dog the specific fulfilment they need in order to thrive. Although it is a touchy subject, there are often times that Behavioural Euthanasia is the only option. However, it should not be the first solution that comes to mind with such a young dog with tons of potential. More often than not, a little bit of structure and guidance is all it takes to change the picture. Sully is a 1 year old lab, who didn't have the proper socialization, and stimulation he needed in order to thrive.
Sully has been in boarding now for 2 months, and because of his bite history, we did decide to do a complete board and train with him, to not only provide him a complete reset, but to ensure his future family would have a perfectly balanced dog, and that we can work with them to ensure that Sully thrives in his forever home.
